Streaming Service: Urban Movie Channel

Urban Movie Channel

BET founder Bob Johnson launched The Urban Movie Channel (UMC) in 2014.  The urban-themed video streaming service features black comedies, dramas, documentaries, and indie films. UNC offers a lot of unique content, exclusive films, and series that cannot be found on other services.

The Tim Reed Documentary series features the stories of lesser known black history figures. UMC features stand-up specials from some hilarious comedians such as DL Hughley, Kevin Heart, and Donnell Rawlings. If you love black indie films like me you will want to subscribe to the service. UMC recently released Second Coming starring Idris Elba.  Elba plays a husband who finds out his wife is pregnant despite the fact that she has not had sex with him or anyone else in a long while.
